Healing me...

I heard He sang a good song,
I heard He had a style,
And so I prayed to see Him and listened for a while.
And there He was my Saviour,
no stranger to my eyes,
Soothing my pain with His fingers,
Healing my life with His words,
Lifting me gently with His song,
Lifting me gently with His song,
Spoke to my whole life with His word,
Lifting me gently with His song…

No longer flushed with fever,
No more embarrassed by the crowd,
For He had found my letters and read each one in tears.
I’d prayed my world would finish,
But He’d just kept right on
Soothing my pain with His fingers,
Healing my life with His words,
Lifting me gently with His song,
Lifting me gently with His song,
Spoke to my whole life with His word,
Lifting me gently with His song…

He sang as if He knew me
In all my dark despair
and when he looked right through me,
I knew He’d always been there
through all my pains and sufferings
Holding me tight and strong and
Soothing my pain with His fingers,
Healing my life with His words,
Lifting me gently with His song,
Lifting me gently with His song,
Spoke to my whole life with His word,
Lifting me gently with His song…

No longer focussed on my ills
I now boast in my weak-nes-ses
For now I know that’s where: His power is greater still
He’ll be there, yes (I know), He will for you
Singing clear and strong and
Soothing your pain with His fingers,
Healing your life with His words,
Lifting you gently with His song,
Lifting you gently with His song,
Speaks to your whole life with His word,
Lifting you gently with His song…
